Edamame rice (gohan)

Edamame rice (gohan)

Ingredients

  • 130g edamame - shelled (or shelled frozen edamame) - boiled
  • 3 cups uncooked rice (with a rice cooker’s cup)
  • 3 cups water
  • 4 garlic cloves - finely chopped
  • 15g fresh ginger - finely chopped
  • 1 tsp fine salt
  • 4g powder hondashi/soup stock

Instructions

  • 1. In a fry-pan, heat a little bit of oil. Fry the garlic and ginger until fragrant. Let cool down and set aside. Boil edamame lightly and drain. Set aside.
  • 2. Put the washed rice in a rice cooker pot. Add the cooked garlic and ginger, salt, hondashi, then water.
  • 3. Click to start!
  • 4. Once the rice is cooked, let it steam for about 10 minutes. Add boiled edamame on the rice, fluff with a rice paddle gently.

  • You can add some more salt to suit your taste.
  • Serve hot!
