Ingredients
- 750g beef - cut into slices or strips
- 600ml water
- 2 onions - cut into slices
- 2 tbsp hondashi powder
- 1 tsp ginger powder or 1 tbsp fresh ginger - grated
- Ingredient A -
- 5 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
- 3 tbsp white cooking wine or cooking sake
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp white sugar
- 3 tbsp mirin
Instructions
- 1. In a cooking pot add water, onion, hondashi powder and ginger powder, and start cooking over medium high heat.
- 2. Once it started to a boil, add the beef and the ingredients A, bring it to boil. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 20min.
- Serve the beef over steamed rice!
