How to : Snake knot chain

Let’s see how to make this “snake knot chain”. It allows you to attach a doll to your bag!

The lengths here are simple indications. Of course you can arrange yours as you need.

Run a cord through the open jump ring as shown. (Here I used a nylon red chinese knotting cord/0.5mm)

Run the double tip end through the loop end as shown.

Now tighten up!
Next, we can start the snake knot by looping one of the strings (eg. the right one) around the other.

Now we take the loose tip, pass it under the other end, and feed it in the previous loop :

Close up on the result of these two loop steps, once tightened up :

And we do it again!

Repeat until 1.8cm.

Then run a bead through ( used 1cm dia bead here. )

Continue making this “snake knot” until you reach 11cm (here above I am not finished so it’s not 11cm yet).

Burn the tips with a lighter to harden them and prevent them from fraying.

Run the end of the strings through the crimp stopper.

Pull it up.

Then run the end of the strings through the lobster clasp.

Now run the end of the strings through the crimp stopper again.

Pull the cord tightly.

Close the crimp stopper tightly, using a flat nose pliers.

Cut the excess cord.

Burn the cut location with a lighter to keep it firm.

Done!
